The big white bubbles seemed to multiply with every swish. “Close your eyes now”, mom would say to keep you from getting soap in your eyes that would cause the burning and crying only to distract you from the soothing feeling of the scalp massage. Now if you were tender headed like my sister was, your experience may not have been as exciting, nonetheless, this recipe is especially for you. Try exploring a few different shampoo options to find one that detangles the most for your child’s hair type. My favorite is Cream of Nature ultra moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Maybe even add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to enhance the fragrance and shampoo your child’s hair while adding a gentle scalp massage. Use your fingers to comb through and detangle before using a comb. Your intention should be for this experience to be nurturing and loving. Release any thoughts that cross your mind about other appointments or duties. This special time should be reverenced because quality time with your children in this day and age does not come frequently. Speak loving words to your child during your special time. Let him or her know how special they are to you. Add these simple tips to your family connect toolbox and pull them out often for best results. Until next month, remember loving touch heals. Touch Recipe Contest By now, you see how touch with loving intention can make a lasting impression on children and adults. Lasting memories and nurturing behaviors are grown from each experience. Now it’s your turn to use your creativity and share your own Touch Recipe. You could win $100 in merchandise from the Touch Is Great Marketplace when you submit your recipe by November 15, 2007. All submissions must be original material written for this campaign exclusively. Send your recipe with 500 words or less to, contest@touchisgreat.com. Touch Is Great 2008 Tour All aboard! Express yourself using the written word or by acting with a small group. Tell adults your story in a way that they have to understand. Do you still carry pieces of your baby blanket because it gives you a feeling of comfort and security? Do you find yourself needing to be around lots of people so you won’t have to feel alone? Does peer pressure cause you to act hard and push your parents away even though you feel you need their hugs and kisses? Share your feelings and you could star in a Touch Is Great infomercial and win a scholarship to a local massage school. For more information, contact us at touchisgreat1@yahoo.com.
