Health and Healing Chronicles: Self-Care Tips

I am Coach Versandra, you holistic health expert and I’m excited about sharing stories and resources that inspire you to take action on your journey to health and healing.

In our last episode, we discussed “Approaching Art from a Holistic Point of View.”

During February, “The Month of Love” we are sharing with you “30-Days of Self Care.”  Self-Care is Self-Love and as we consider sharing love with our lovers, our families, our communities, we simply must place our attention first on our selves. Not with selfish motives, but with the understanding that we can’t give from an empty cup. We learn to fill ourselves up with love so that the overflow effortlessly moves, radiates, illuminates to everyone around us and all fear and pain disappears.

So my challenge to you the entire month of February is to wrap your arms around yourself with love every single day. Get use to this feeling of self nurturing because as you continue these sacred treatments, something amazing will occur. Self-Care Tip 1 – Get enough sleep. Sleep deprivation may cause grumpiness, kill your sex drive and contribute to weight gain according to experts.

Self-Care Tip 2 – Take the time to prioritize your day each morning (what are the top 2 -3 things you want to get done today?). Close your eyes and visualize yourself celebrating your accomplishments. Instead of being stressed out and reacting, simply act.

Self-Care Tip 3 – Reduce time on the computer and TV. We are being programmed all the time and it’s time to take control of the remote. Schedule your favorite shows and your computer time like you do other appointments, then stick to your schedule. Choosing your programming helps you weed out those unconscious messages that do not serve your mind, body and spirit growth and development. Consider fasting from television and other electronic devices often for several hours or several days to reconnect with your higher self.
