Overcoming Child Sexual Abuse with Dawn Gibson

Dawn and I met at the premier of The Film Black Friday in Atlanta. She let me know that she had recently relocated to Atlanta, so I invited Dawn to join us for the Upgrade Business Boot Camp the following Tuesday at Club e so that she could meet other heart centered entrepreneurs.

This is a very emotional, but necessary story to tell. The fact is that child sexual assault is not uncommon in the U.S.

According to the National Center for Victims of Crime 2010

  • 1 in 5 girls and 1 in 20 boys is a victim of child sexual abuse
  • 3 out of 4 children who reported sexual assault were victimized by someone that they knew well.
  • Over the course of their lifetime, 28% of U.S. youth ages 14 to 17 had been sexually victimized
