Ignite Your Imagination Retreat for Women 6-27-20: You’re Invited

Author and holistic health educator Versandra Kennebrew invites you to join her for a day of exploration, education, and creation at the Ignite Your Imagination Retreat.

“Imagination is everything, it is the key to life’s coming attractions.” Albert Einstein

When life appears to be confusing and chaotic it is good to retreat to a safe space, a secret place to get grounded, reflect and release the physical and emotional stress that can take a toll on a woman’s sense of well-being. Women are essential at home and in the workplace which is why this retreat is apart of the Optimal Living Education & Retreats LLC pre-launch. We want to fortify women during our Nation’s pandemic to be the sheros they were created to be during turbulent times for themselves and for their families.

“A healthy woman brings peace and prosperity to her home and her workplace.” Versandra Kennebrew

Distinguished Toastmasters Hall of Fame Luncheon

Distinguished Toastmaster Award

In June of 2016, I began my Toastmasters journey. It took me nearly 20 years to take on this prestigious self-paced leadership education program because I made excuses as to why it was not “right for me.”

When I tested the waters in the spring of 2016 at a Toastmasters Speechcraft, I noticed how attending a bi-weekly 1-hr meeting held me accountable to my commitment to my own growth and development. Unlike going to college and piling up thousands of dollars in debt, I instead invested about $100 and 36 hrs a year to build my self-confidence, learn essential leadership skills, and grow my professional network.

I have finally come to a point in my life where I can celebrate myself and my accomplishments and not care what anyone else thinks. I give myself permission to shine even when others are uncomfortable with it.

If you would like to celebrate with me and other DTM’s at the Distinguished Toastmasters Hall of Fame Luncheon April 18, 2020, at the Marriott, Atlanta-Emory Area, tickets are available for a limited time. Join us and see how Toastmasters can transform your life.

Versandra, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
As a young overworked African American woman raising two children working 50-60 hours a week, climbing the corporate ladder, my health became compromised. While recovering from what doctors considered minor surgery I began to consider my purpose in life. I no longer wanted to work every day, all day just to survive. I wanted to live my life on purpose and I wanted to see the world.

As I put into action my plan to transition into my new career and life’s purpose as a healing artist, my dad was diagnosed with cancer. I relocated from the Washington D.C. area back home to Detroit to care for him. Still discovering my life’s path, I studied massage therapy and a variety of holistic health modalities from around the world. Providing on-site corporate massage at Blue Cross Blue Shield, Ford Motor Company World Headquarters, and the City of Detroit while serving celebrity clients like Les Brown, Tommy Davidson, Kirk Whalum, and Dee Dee Bridgewater to name a few, I became well-known in my hometown as a healing artist. My social media activity opened up opportunities for me to speak and teach across the U.S. and Canada. Amidst living my passion, I was also balancing serving my community as I owned a holistic wellness center.

Scribes and Speakers Connect in Atlanta

VK Author1

You’ve been wanting to connect with other writers, poets, and speakers, expanding your network and your resources. That time has come!

When I was planning to write my memoir in 2008, I didn’t know where to start. Of course, I Googled self-publishing and joined a few webinars and learned a lot, but first-hand insight is what I wanted and needed. I found a writer’s network and joined a mastermind group. 6-books later, I am a successful author and international speaker. I am transforming lives world-wide.

On Saturday,  April 18, 2020, I am pleased to be honored during the District 44 Toastmasters Hall of Fame Luncheon in Atlanta, receiving the Distinguished Toastmasters award. In celebration of this great honor, I am hosting Scribes & Speakers Connect a networking gathering for a small group of local scribes and speakers. I will share my top 20 tips for gaining 2020 Vision as you write, publish, and market your transformational story.

There are two opportunities to join me for Scribes & Speakers Connect and advanced tickets are required. Wine and desserts served.

National Coach Academy Interview Series with Versandra Kennebrew

It’s always a pleasure to mentor new coaches and a couple of weeks ago, I had the honor of being interviewed by Brandon from Life Coach Path in association with National Coach Academy. We chatted about how I got started as a coach and what my practice is all about.

The main objective at the National Coach Academy is to enable aspiring coaches to reach their full professional potential. One of the most effective ways to educate students about the world of coaching is by offering them a window into the world of real, practicing coaches and showing them all the different ways coaches make a difference in the lives of their clients.
